Thinking Pink

Here it is, October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say I freakin hate breast cancer, and I'm still pissed that it took my nana from me.

Before she had a chance to meet my boys. Call them "cunnin". Give me some advice that I could so desperately use.

I miss her so very much.

She wore Keds in lots of colors, coordinated right down to the shoes. She made a mean pickle. I was her favorite (No seriously I was! Listen, cuz, you only THOUGHT you were the favorite. It was totally me).

She could chat up a park bench. More engaging than Oprah Winfrey.

When I was a kid and was struggling in class because I couldn't do word searches she used to make them up for me to practice with. With a piece of paper and a pen, not a puzzle making computer program, sonny.

She was my pen pal.

She could really knit. And crochet. And cross-stitch. And any other crafty thing. Another area I could seriously use her help.

The last thing she said to me was, "I love you so much."

I love you, too.

I just signed up to be a volunteer for Army Of Women a project hoping to recruit one million women to participate in current breast cancer research projects. Go check it out.
